Earlier this year, Advertise Me was engaged to expand the UNSW Medical digital signage system to the new Clinical Skills and Simulation Centre in Liverpool Hospital. The new Clinical building is UNSW’s new training facility for medical student and was officially opened on the 11th June 2013. The Minister Plibersek , local State and Federal Members of Parliament as well as members of the Ingham family and their invited guests attended the opening.
The digital signage system was primarily used as digital posters, wayfinding and displaying timetables and events for medical students.
The digital posters was one of a kind, as the players were hidden inside the wall. Have a read of this blog post How to make your Digital Signage screen look like a Poster of how we actually achieved this. The Samsung Commercial 46″ LED screens was selected and used because of the vibrant colours, functionality, size and depth.
Advertise Me provided with a unique wayfinding solution to assist and direct students, staff and visitors to the different clinical/meeting rooms and labs. More importantly, the system allowed staff to quickly and easily update notices for each room by using simple text files.
Advertise Me also developed a custom tool to display the University’s events/timetable information from their Event Management System (DEA) to the digital screens (new and existing). The information displayed on the digital screens (date, time, room and event name) helped medical students, guests and staff to quickly and easily locate their meetings or events.
